Digital digital get down?
This morning when I woke up “Digital Get Down” by nsync was stuck in my head for some strange reason, probably the most awkward song to wake up singing. Thinking back on my nsync fanhood, or well…obsession, I am surprised that this song never struck me as odd before.
Picture it: I was a 12 year old almost teenie bopper listening to a song about people doing not so nice things over the Internet? I saw nsync with my dad multiple times, how awkward?
Thinking back, I don’t recall much concern about this song, but when I really think about it, parents should have been in uproar. I mean sure, all nsync songs have a hint of sexual innuendo, but this is talking about cybering! 14 year olds don’t have any idea what’s going on when they listen, so I guess it’s like Shrek…but unlike Shrek, no one is really enjoying the hidden message.
