Movie Soundtracks...
I went to see Seven Pounds last night. It was a pretty good movie, except my mom guessed the meaning of the title before we went, and thus, I knew the entire time what was going on. Don’t let your mom tell you what she thinks a movie is about, most likely she will be right.
There has always been a little part of me who has wanted to be the person who chooses songs for movies. I am still trying to figure out how I could get that job…
Anyway, as cliched as it is, the Garden State soundtrack is probably my favorite. I can honestly say that I can recite every word to every one of those songs. I think that sound track perfectly fits the movie.
The worst is when songs do not go in a movie at all, or if a song is taken totally out of context to fit in a movie.
To go back to the beginning, Seven Pounds featured a song by Nick Drake titled “One of These Things First” which was also in Garden State. Hmmm…the song fit both movies perfectly, but when I heard it all I could think of was Garden State…hmmm
